About Us

The Church of the Nazarene is an international evangelical denomination in the Wesleyan Holiness tradition, working in over 156 world areas with over 2.5 million members.

In the UK there are 90 churches organised into two districts, North and South. The Nazarene Theological College is a partner institution of The University of Manchester offering degrees up to PhD.

Each local congregation of the Church of the Nazarene is a faith community, ready to greet you in Jesus’ name. There you will discover opportunities not only to encounter Jesus as your Saviour and Lord, but to grow as a follower of Christ.

Our Mission

To Make Christlike Disciples Among the Nations

Through:

Evangelism – Reaching the lost

Discipleship – Teaching the saints

Missional – Sending the called

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I commanded you…”

Matthew 28:19-20

Praying Hands

Core Values

Prayer

We believe prayer is essential to Christian life.  It is through prayer that we remain connected to God through the Holy Spirit.  It is in prayer that we seek God’s direction, grace, comfort, and power for living lives of Christlike love in the world.

Worship

We believe worship is more than something we do on Sunday morning, but a lifestyle of continual praise evidenced in our lives and fuelled by our regular corporate gatherings or prayer, praise, singing, scripture, communion, and preaching.

Discipleship

We believe all Christians must engage in a continual relationship of growth in Christ.  It is through engagement with the Church that we are supported and held accountable. We pursue holiness together through conversation, bible study, teaching, listening, learning and spiritual formation.

Witness

We believe that our call as God’s people is to share the good news of God’s love shown in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ with the world around us, inviting people to participate in the life for which they were created.  While words are a necessary part of communication, we believe in the testimony of a holy life.
